A month is a unit of time, used in calendars. It was used in Mesopotamia first, in the determination of the natural period related to the motion of the Moon. There are different types of months, which are important in astronomy. A month can last from 28 to 31 days.
Years
A year is a unit of time equal to the period of the Earth moving in its orbit around the Sun. There is no generally accepted designation. The international use abbreviation (for Latin America «annus»), including the English system of measurement – «y» or «yr». The Julian year in astronomy is a unit of time equal to 365.25 days of 86400 seconds (not leap seconds). The word «year» is also used for other periods, for example, academic year and season.
